Aims of the policy
The overall aim of the policy is to contribute towards the efficient and effective management of the Authority’s housing stock. Successful implementation of the policy will support Housing Services to provide well maintained, safe and affordable properties for all residents.
Key objectives are:
- To provide clear guidance on what may be considered a chargeable cost by the landlord to the tenant or leaseholder.
- Proactive prevention to prevent chargeable costs.
- To outline the process for charging.
- To inform tenants and leaseholders of payment arrangements.
- To make tenants and leaseholders aware of action that may be taken if payment is not made.
