Introduction
A key theme running through Our North Tyneside Plan is to listen to our residents and to focus on ensuring that the Authority works better for them, through the provision of consistent and transparent services.
This policy outlines Housing Services’ approach to the application of chargeable costs.
The policy aims to ensure that only appropriate costs including those for repairs and maintenance of properties, are being met by Housing Services, and that the financial recovery of any costs that are outside of our responsibilities as a landlord and freeholder is consistent and transparent to residents. This policy should be read alongside:
- Tenancy agreement.
- Repairs and maintenance policy.
- Repairs handbook for tenants.
- Leaseholder agreement.
- Moving in and moving out standards.
- Lettings policy.
- Mutual exchange procedure.
- Decant procedure.
- Fixtures and fittings procedure.
- Empty homes standards.
- Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) standards.
