New providers
The following can offer free childcare funded by the Government:
- Nurseries and preschools registered with Ofsted
- Childminders registered with Ofsted
- Childminders registered with an Ofsted-approved agency
- Schools that take children aged 2 and over and don’t need to register with Ofsted
To offer funded childcare, providers must:
- Complete the council’s registration process
- Share some information and sign a Grant Agreement
- Finish registration before claiming any funding
- Start the process at least 6 weeks before the term begins
- Attend a training session before claiming funding through the Early Years Portal
