North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all through traffic on:
Cullercoats and Whitley Bay South
Beverley Gardens from No 5 to Cullercoats Primary School. No alternative route available but access maintained for residents.
Forest Hall
- Cresswell Avenue West from Clousden Drive to Felton Drive. Alternative routes available via Clousden Drive and Felton Drive.
- Elizabeth Drive on the entirety of the Elizabeth Drive Semi-Circle. No alternative route available but access maintained for residents.
Howdon
- Carlyle Street from Bewicke Road to Armstrong Road. Alternative routes available via Bewicke Road and Armstong Road.
- Clavering Street North From Bewicke Road to Norman Terrace. Alternative routes available via Bewicke Road, Armstong Road, Howdon Lane and Norman Terrace.
- Station Road, Willington Quay from the junction of Bewicke Road to the junction of Armstrong Road. Alternative routes available via Bewicke Road and Armstong Road
Wallsend Central
Oak Grove along its full length. No alternative route available but access maintained for residents.
Weetslade
- Beacon Drive along its full length. No alternative route available but access maintained for residents.
- Taylor Avenue from Taylor Avenue to School Entrance and outside No 5 to outside No 25. Alternative routes available via Warkworth Drive and Morpeth Avenue.
- Weetslade Crescent along its full length. No alternative route available but access maintained for residents.
Whitley Bay North
Valley Gardens From Hillfield to Deneholm. No alternative route available but access maintained for residents.
The proposed temporary Orders are required for micro-asphalting of the carriageway and will come into force on 1 November 2025 lasting until 19 December 2025.
