Your responsibilities
You don't need to be a qualified teacher to educate your child at home and you don't need permission.
You don't have to have the same kind of lessons or structure that schools provide. You should consider educational visits, projects, internet research and activities with other children. This can take part alongside formal learning.
If you plan to start educating your child at home and they're already enrolled at school, you must notify the head in writing.
If your child attends a special school, you'll need to notify us too.
You take full responsibility for your child's education including financial costs. We don't have funding available for the costs of tutors, exams, books or other materials.
