Souter Park is a characterful and lively suburban park straddling Marine Avenue, which runs from Monkseaton Metro Bridge down into Whitley Bay.
Adjoining Souter Park on the North side are Churchill Playing Fields which offers an expanse of open space for playing sports.
A public footpath following the second of the former Avenue branch railway lines runs along the west side of the Fields, from Marine Avenue to Monkseaton Drive.
