Important dates for school admissions
Timetable for Middle School (Year 5), High School (Year 7), Secondary School (Year 9 Whitley Bay High) and Reception 2026/27.

| 31 October 2025 | Closing date for all applications to be received by the Local Authority. |
| 2 March 2026 | National Offer Day for Middle and High Schools. |
| 16 March 2026 | Last date for parents to accept or refuse the offer that has been made. |
| 16 March 2026 | Last date for parents to request in writing that they want to place their child's name on the waiting list. |
| 24 March 2026 onwards | The LA reallocates any places that have become available since offer day. |
| May – July 2026 | Appeals to be heard. |
