Tenants are at the heart of everything we do and we respect that our tenants know better than anyone else where things are going well and where they could be better.
We offer a range of ways that tenants can work with us to have their say and influence the services we provide, ensuring that decisions made are informed by the needs and perspectives of our tenant community. We recognise the significant positive contribution that tenant volunteers make to improving our service for all tenants and aim to encourage our tenants to get involved in a way that suits them, for example:
- Formal tenant panel groups
- One-off focus groups on a particular topic
- Drop-in sessions at community venues
- Our annual tenants’ event
- Completing a survey
- Reviewing new written information before publication
The Our North Tyneside Voice website hosts all council consultations and engagement opportunities, with a dedicated section for council tenants. The site has details of tenant panels, upcoming activities and feedback on previous consultations and recent events. Please register on the site to receive email notifications whenever there is an opportunity for you to get involved.
You can also visit the Have Your Say displays in the council’s Community Hubs and Libraries, or call 0191 643 2828 for details of tenant engagement activities.
