Event information
Events include popular seasonal events such as Santa at St Marys, holiday family events such as fossil frolics and rockpool rambles, events for under 5’s and crafts, and special adult events such as stargazing and night rockpooling. We also put on our free tickets to annual events such as the St Mary’s Wildlife Festival and St Mary’s Birthday Picnic Party.
School and group visits
Our most popular offer is full day visits (4hrs+) including lunch time and 3 or more activities from the following, depending on tides: rockpooling, lighthouse visit, lighthouse keeper lives workshop, sand art, fossil hunting, investigating coasts, wildlife talk, seal and bird watching, meadow minibeasts.
We offer group visits all year round. Group charges for educational visits of more that 10 children (accompanying adults are free of charge) are £6.50 per child for a full day of activities lead by an education officer in the summer. Outside of peak summer season, day visits are £6.40 per child, and if you book during outside of peak summer season you will have the building to yourselves.
Educational visits are based in the conference room where possible, with one group per day using the room as a base for teaching activities and lunch space, led by the education staff team. Please email us in advance for availability, group discount costs and more information to support your trip planning, please contact us if you want to ask for something more bespoke. At busy summer times we can offer outside activity led days.For groups wanting to lead their own trip and have tower only admission, we offer a group discount of £2.80 per child.

Private rockpooling and fossil hunting sessions
Ideal for birthday parties, or a treat with a difference, we offer rockpooling or fossil hunting sessions led by an education officer who will teach you about the amazing creatures/fossils your group find. Or challenge your party guests to climb the lighthouse. £65 each activity, nets and bucket hire included, for up to 30 guests, recommended for 5yrs+ or adults.
Please contact us as we can adapt sessions for under 5s groups of up to 20 children. We love our parties to be hosted in environmentally and wildlife friendly ways, we can advise on some ideas for a sustainable and memorable party within our beautiful local nature reserve. You can also hire the conference room if you want to hold a party and provide refreshments.
Room Hire in Lighthouse Keeper Cottages
Book the conference room in the old lighthouse keeper cottages on the island with sea views, £55 per hour, hire of chairs and tables for up to 50 people with kitchenette area, urn and cutlery loan included. Tea coffee and biscuits can be provided for £2 per person. Stranding bookings over the high tide are also available for some limited dates, for £40 per hour.
