Bringing our actions to life
Our Anti-Racism Promise
Our Anti-Racism Promise emphasises our commitment to being an anti-racist organisation.
The series of five statements in our promise show our strategic long-term commitment to achieving race equality as an organisation and our Anti-Racism action plan supports this.
We aim for it to send a clear message that we are motivated to be an inclusive and equal workplace in the community that we serve.

Pay Equality
We’re committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all and publish our Gender Pay Gap annually in line with our legal duties. Our Gender Pay Gap Report can be viewed here.
We also publish our Ethnicity Pay Gap and Disability Pay Gap internally for colleagues as well as a comprehensive action plan to support equity across the organisation.
Disability Confident
As a Disability Confident Leader, we’re proud to play a leading role in promoting positive attitudes and creating a culture of inclusion that benefits everyone—our colleagues, customers, and residents alike.
We are proud to say that we hold Disability Confident Leadership status and have a detailed action plan of activities in place to continue to maintain this achievement.

LGBT+
We’re proud to be an LGBT+ friendly employer, committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all. Our LGBT+ staff network group is here to provide support and connection, and we’re dedicated to fostering allyship across our council through LGBT+ friendly policies, procedures, and accessible information for all colleagues. Together, we’re building a workplace where everyone can be themselves and feel valued.
